Orchard is a striking wallpaper design inspired by an early 20th. Century embroidered crewelwork panel from the Sidney Paul & Co. archive. Rooted in tradition, crewelwork designs were often influenced by European sourcebooks of ornament and embroidered pattern collections from the 16th. and 17th. Centuries, as well as by the vibrant Palampore textiles imported into Europe during the same period.

Orchard brings together English, Indian, and Persian influences, with traditional elements and motifs reimagined by our design team to create a wonderfully dramatic, large-scale Tree of Life trail. Rich in embroidered detail and character, this statement design celebrates a fusion of cultural artistry and timeless craftsmanship.
